Congrats to Don Brooks


A very special congratulations to the late Don Brooks, the former longtime Head
Football Coach at Coronado High School and his recent induction into the Texas
High School Coaches Association Hall of Honor.


Ruben R. Ramirez, the President of the Hall of Fame said of his honor “ Coach
Brooks had a decorated career as a football coach and a leader of young men that was immeasurable. Congratulations to his family on this very special honor.”


35 years as a Head Coach and 228 football wins and in 2015 Mr. Brooks had the
Coronado High School football stadium renamed to Jack Quarles – Don Brooks
Stadium.

Mr. Brooks is a 2001 inductee into the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame and his son
Scott Brooks, the longtime Head Football Coach at Canutillo High School is a
2016 inductee into the Hall.


Don Brooks and son Scott are one of six Fathers/Sons that are inductees into the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame in the Hall’s rich 70 Year history. Mr. Brooks died in 2021.
