The El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame lost today, January 10, 2022 an El Paso legend with the passing of Don Maynard, NFL Football Hall of Famer at the age of 86.
Mr. Maynard went to then Texas Western College now the University of Texas at El Paso from 1954-1956 before staring his NFL career which culminated with his playing for the 1969 New York Jets which won Superbowl III.
Maynard is in the NFL Football Hall of Fame, UTEP Hall of Fame and the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame.
Rest In Peace Don Maynard and thank you for your contributions to the El Paso Sports scene and being the legendary football player and mentor to so many.
